¡Hola!
My journey began in Chihuahua, Mexico, where I decided, “Un día voy a ser directora de cine (One day, I’m going to become a Film Director.)” That dream felt worlds away, but what kept me going was my entrepreneurial mother. Despite the stereotypical expectations put on her of what a woman should do, she built a bilingual school from the ground up, where I was raised and taught English. Because of her, I was equipped to move to the United States and pursue my goals as a filmmaker.
My work earned recognition from the Indie Film Festival, leading me to become the Director of Content at Made In Her Image (MIHI), a non-profit dedicated to empowering women and non-binary filmmakers of color. Their programs have expanded with partnerships from companies like Universal Studios, A24, and Sundance, providing education, resources, and hands-on experience in the industry. I directed a series in collaboration with Panavision, working with a union crew and industry pioneers like Deniese Davis, Cierra Glaude, and Daysha Broadway. Through those years I’ve witnessed a movement empowering young creatives to create a space for themselves in the film industry and it has been life-changing. It awaken my desire to dedicate my art to placing representation and resources into the hands of those who need them the most.
My work is rooted in that mission. Everyone deserves to see themselves reflected in the stories that shape our world. That's why I'm dedicated to amplifying the voices of people who are breaking barriers and making waves. They're the ones who are driving change and shaping our future. The ones who are redefining what's possible and inspiring us to greatness. I want my work to challenge narratives and open doors.
